She's a delight, and OH is delighted too cos he finally has more Brownie Points than I have.

Polly has decided she likes Classic canned food and has polished off a whole can laced with Zylkene so she is properly relaxed tonight.

She was a little stressed in the basket, and due to numerous crashes on the numerous motorways today she was in there for four and a half hours all in. We stopped in the East Midlands for a break and she had a wander around inside the car for 10 minutes, ate a piece of cheese from my sandwich and went back in her box, no bother.

I've got her new cat tree made up which she loves and her new squidgy bed seems to be a hit, but she was dismissive of the ping-pong ball  :shify:

I'll sleep in there with her tonight, and see how she gets on tomorrow (I'm working from home) and we'll start swapping bedding and toys around on Wednesday if she continues the way she's been today.

All in all, I'm in love  :Luv: Thank You Lau, she's just perfect.

you got her to eat wet food, after every brand i tried...the little madam is obviously on best behaviour for you! hope it wasn't an orange ping pong ball.....the ones in my house usually have a big ginger cat tearing around the place after them!

Latest pic of our Polly, she's been here four days now, and although she still likes "her" bedroom for a bit of solitude from time to time, she's becoming more confident and happy to explore the house in her own time.  8)

I had her in the garden earlier on the harness - not quite so relaxed but she didn't try to bolt or panic. All good so far.  :shy:

Have discovered she a Prawniac. This pic was taken ten minutes after she scoffed six prawns due to go in my fish pie, and ten minutes before she chucked 'em back up again, followed by a healthy portion of her dinner and some chicken she pinched off Theo.

Talk about fitting right in.... ;D

Lau, you were spot on about her, she's such a sweetie. OH is utterly in love with her and she sleeps on my pillow each night. Thankfully she so teeny there's room for me too. We've had no reprisals at all from the regulars, which is quite astounding actually!

I hope you are taking some comfort from these pages, Lau. It must be a wrench for you to let these beautiful babies go. We all completely understand though, needs must when the Devil drives :(

Thank you for Polly, she's Golden.

I thought you'd like an update. We're on day 10, and Polly is now fully integrated. Her chip is registered to the catflap and she's learning how to use it today, with the help of some cooked chicken  :innocent:  :)

She's been wandering in the garden with me every day this week and today was allowed out on her own for the first time :scared: and has been totally at her ease.

She saw our vet yesterday, she's in very good health with perfect teeth and bright eyes, no sign of any problems whatsoever, so for a senior Kittizen, she's in remarkably good shape. So happy for her.  ;D

Two pics - one showing her catual size with a standard pack of dreamies for lunch scale.

The other one showing how much she has adopted our house as her own - the spot on the gate allows her to monitor all the folk coming home from work - and of course keep tabs on the neighbouring kitties.

Purrfection in miniature  :Luv:

*cough* *cough*  :shify: :shify: I turn my back for what? 5 minutes? and you have sneaked another gorgeous lady into your house Sheila!  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

What a beauty and I can see she has definitely made a grand entrance, took her place on the stage and is a leading lady!!  ;D ;D How well and quickly she has settled  ;D ;D I'm so pleased for you (and OH who clearly has a new comrad) ;D ;D

and I echo what others have said to Lau - it must have been heartwrenching to let them go but such a great comfort to know your babies have gone to such good homes and that they are settled and happy   and on here you get to see updates like these  :Luv2: :Luv2:

She's lying on the back of the couch behind me and occasionally I feel a tap on my shoulder  :Luv:

She's so comfortable here and has paired up with Theo, our Tottenham bruiser, who is simply besotted with her (he's also three times her size) so she'll be just fine (Theo fiercely protects "his" women  ;D )

Here's our hero, Theo, Polly's new boyfriend...

She taps me on the head aswell  :Luv:

She's a fridge cat too - our furbs are always rewarded with cold chicken from the fridge and they latch on to the fridge door opening...she clocked this within three days and now no-one goes near the fridge without a wee black shadow  :sneaky:

Lau, Polly's doing just fine. I hope this brings you some comfort

Aww shucks, thanks everyone  :shy:

If I'd realised this photo of Polly would turn out so well I'd have taken the washing in!

Jo, the dwarf trachycarpus has been with me at three houses now, its the same age as Beau (13) and was a tiny thing in a pot when it first arrived. Now I have to prune it because it insists on spawning babies from its base every year and is just the happiest, healthiest palm tree I've ever known, and is showing no signs of keeping its "dwarf" status at well over 6 feet high!  :wow:

I aimed at "Beer Garden" as a theme - do you think I've got it?

(PS you can't see the large Sauvignan in my left hand)  :naughty:

Such a handsome lad!! handsome but frisky
Title: Re: Polly
Post by: sheilarose on April 21, 2012, 12:45:10 PM
In a way I wish it was Tufty she's cottoned on to, but it's Theo.

He's traditionally the boss in this house but of late his leadership has been severely challenged by Sly da sly, who has been on steroids recently so currently his bullying is around 1000% its usual levels.

Polly seems to have got a grip on the politics here and by pairing up with Theo she's also taken a lot of the argument out of the younger boys (Tuffs and Sly). Theo now sleeps and eats in the house (he's beeen a garden cat for a couple of years) and is friendly and loving towards us too  :Luv2:

The knock on effect is that Sly is effectively outnumbered, so is stepping back rather than forward when Polly is present. Therefore Tufty gets an easier ride, too  :)

She's tiny but by God she's effective! A master stroke if I say so meself  :shy:

Lau, I thought you'd be happy to have an update, and be pleased to know that Polly is now Mistress of All She Surveys and has adopted my left shoulder as her favourite spot.  :briggin:

She has also taken to herding the boys (including my OH) in at night. OH was stalked all the way to the off licence last week.  :wow: Your diagnosis of "Mother Hen" was spot on  ;D

Thank you for letting her come to me, she's a lovely girl and the most affectionate cat in our busy household.   :Luv:

Hope things are good with you and that your health is improving.

Catching up with you, Lau. Polly has discovered she can smack down the cat flap when Kuki is trying to get in  :naughty: not that she has anything against Kuki per sey, just Kuki is the only one smaller than Polly.  :slap:

It's her 2nd anniversary of coming to me tomorrow, so just thought I'd pop by and say Hi from our gorgeous, funny, loveable little grumpuss. She's doing great and we hope you are too.
