just to let you all know that the babies all went to new home last night we decided in the end not to keep lola as a friend of mine had fallen in love with her so i let her go but there are all close to hand so will get to see them alot will try and post some updated pic soon

Hippy - 75% of ginger cats are male - too early for me to remember the ins and outs though I'm afraid!!

your right is it not a snap apart safety collar it is just a bog standard collar but she is in my bedroom with the babies and can't get court up one anything in there once she is spayed and going out again she will have a different collar on

Hope you dont mind me mentioning the collar that Bubbles is wearing, it doesnt appear to be a snap apart safety collar, Are you aware how dangerous these collars can be? This observation is meant as advice and not malicous in any way.
Looks like you are doing a wonderful job with the babies.

Don't know what sort of camera you've got, but if you've an external flash unit, you can alternatively bounce off the ceiling to diffuse the light.

Please take note of what Desley said about the flash. You could give them flash-blindness or even do permanent damage to the retina.

I also adore ginger kittys, the rspca re homed my ginger cat, thinking he didnt have a home.

Please watch how you take pics of them - if you are pointing the camera near their eyes, always take the flash off or put something like tissue over it to diffuse it. They are lovely though.
