My friends cat Pip keeps drinking out of her toilet more so after she's been (I know minging sorry!) Is there a reason for him to doing this and is there a way of stopping him as she forgets....quite often....to put her toilet lid down. Any ideas? ???

Nope, you pretty much gave the only option to stop him in your post!
It seems odd that he'd want to drink straight after your friends been to the loo, though. Does he seem to be drinking more in general?

Thanks for your response. If she shoos him away and puts the tap on he'll go to the sink but I don't think he's been drinking anymore than he normally does.
Is it just a bad habit that he's got?

It could be that he goes to the toilet because of the movement in the water.(after usage the water will be disturbed.) Would your friend consider investing in a cat fountain?

Just found this:
As urine remains in the bowl, it does go through chemical changes
producing ammonia among other things. Several years ago, one of my
cats always wanted to lick the kitchen and bath floor after it had
been cleaned.
At the time I was cleaning with an ammonia based product. The cats
vet suggested the desire to lick an ammoniated surface may have
something to do with a craving caused by a lack of something in the
cat's diet.
It turned out there was. I had been preparing my own cat food rather
than using commercially prepared diets. After further investigation,
the vet told me the cat was lacking a substance called "taurine,"
which is added to commercial preparations but is often lacking in home
prepared foods.
Might be worth your friend checking out the contents of her cats food!

I hope there is no cleaning agents in the loo. Really she has a responsibility to ensure the little ones safety what if it fell in head first. She really needs to close the door as well. Sorry guys but I always thought that leaving the loo seat up was more of a man thing but I must admit my husband doesn't.

Could you leave a bowl of water upstairs? Maybe the sound of the flush reminds him he's thirsty. One of mine only drinks if you point it out to him! He's dumb and lazy!
