Title: Private rehome request on Blackpool Cats in Care site HOMED
Post by: JackSpratt on May 03, 2011, 11:53:51 AM
Was sent this boys info yesterday; I think he looks lovely. :Luv:

Oliver is eight years and in good health. He's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Oliver enjoys time outside, but also chooses to spend some time indoors in the sun patches or on an available knee. He has been with his previous humans from kittenhood and is a very affectionate creature who will place himself on peoples knees and demand to be stroked whilst purring loudly.

Oliver is used to the company of dogs, having grown up with a golden labrador, but has never shared a home with other cats so far. He currently has a dried food diet and eats very well.
Oliver is being rehomed through no fault of his own. If you can offer him a home, please contact cockeramz@hotmail.co.uk.

Moved to urgent due to recent information. This boy is waiting to come to BCIC, but they don't know how long it will be before there's space and the owner has mentioned the dreaded P word. >:(

I'm not impressed. BCIC are trying desperately to make space but they're so full. :( It's a neverending struggle for the poor rescues isn't it, and the "main one" does nothing to help really.

How can you have a cat for eight years and think of that option!  :-:

I have literally no idea....actually, the cat was their sons and he's just left Oliver with them from what I understand. So I suppose technically they haven't.

Has their son really left, or could he be under the patio.....? Can't imagine he'd be thrilled to learn his apparently well cared for pet was going to be PTS as his parents couldn't be bothered.   :(

I think he's moved away because of his career - I asked Nicky if they were seriously considering it because they seemed quite sensible people (I've emailed them before) and she feels they are. This saddens me because from what I'm told they're competent, intelligent people who work in the human care profession - why can't that courtesy extend to poor Oliver while a home's found for him?

It's a shame it can't.  I wish the choice of PTS wasn't so easy!  God help us all if it ever includes people.  :(

I personally think theres a lot of people that should be pts -it would do the world a favour and the ones that want to do things like this are no exception !
Poor Oliver , hope he is ok (and someone pust them to sleep instead ! :censored: :censored: )

Sorry this is off topic but I need to say it. What is the son doing to rehome HIS cat of eight years?! >:(  Pets don't get threatened with PTS if they are not dumped on people who have no regard for the their life. Many owners move heaven and earth to find a loving home for their animals when their circumstances change. >:(

It is off topic, but it's something that irked me too. Clearly, he's an adult son, so why isn't he acting as such and taking full responsibility?

That aside, a foster for BCIC has been found for this boy.
