Title: Helping cats get along...
Post by: Birds_Will_Fly on December 14, 2014, 17:45:50 PM
I've recently got a new cat (three weeks ago) I've slowly introed him to my current female, things were going ok but now my female has been chasing and attacking him and he is now terrified, we've had a few scratches but no major injuries. I've also had a feliway plugged in since we got him. Any advice would be great!

There's some really good advice on multi-cat households here: http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,4799.0.html - perhaps your girl is feeling threatened by having to share "her" things. You may need to 'back up' and separate them for a few days then re-introduce. How old are they both?

Have a look at some Jackson Galaxy videos on You Tube too, there are quite a few posted on Purrs already, his theories really work.

From my own experience, it just takes time.
Make sure they both have access to their own sleeping area, own food bowls.
Some become the best of friends and some never do but as long as you are fair and provide equal treatment they will learn to live with each other.
