We have just taken in this wee fella who we have called Ali as he has such a fighting spirit and is the sole surviving kitten of a litter of 4 born 24 - 48 hrs ago.
Wee man is freezing, dehydrated and very very weak.... just hoping we got to him in time and he can keep fighting... please sending you positive thoughts for wee Ali if you can please? :wish:

Ali is still with us today and he is fighting on. He has started to suckle and his bowels and bladder are now emptying regularly which is good as we were concerned he had a blockage. He is taking a regular 2ml per feed and thus far seems to be stronger and a little perkier. We know having been here dozens of times before that we can't rest until a few weeks are past but at the moment we are just pleased he is still with us and not being buried with his siblings today.

The wee man is still with us and fighting on bless his wee heart. He is full of spirit and we just hope that is enough to see him through this to a long life ahead... each day that passes we hope is a step in the right direction for this wee scrap of a kitty..

We have mum Yvonne. It was really sad but we didn't find out about this case until the day after the kittens were born. Paul drove straight there to get them but by the time he did 3 kittens were dead and Ali was barely hanging on. We brought mum and his older sister of a year old away with us as the owner couldn't afford them and found that mum has absolutely no milk whatsoever.
Mum is doing fine but sadly ... unable to rear Ali. We also think that mum lay on the 3 kittens so they could also have been suffocated to death. 3 little beauties and good size too... needlessly here and needlessly at Rainbow Bridge :'( They have been buried in the remembrance garden beside Herbies siblings.

its a lovely thought but for me the risks outweigh the benefits. That said our success rate with hand rears is so high that I don't think it would really make a difference.
If he is destined to make it and he continues to develop properly then there should be no reason to lose him. If we do lose him now then there is something else going on in that wee body of his. All we can do is wait and see and keep plodding along for him.
He is full of spirit and character so hopefully that will see him through as it has seen him this far. :Luv2:

every day hes here , hes getting stronger..Im sure he is going to thrive with the one on one attention you are giving him.
I dont know much about raising tiny kittens..sorry... but if you arent already then keeping a weight chart could help, it msy not be apparent how much weight hes gaining when you are with him all the time, whilst when you can see him gaining weight it may set your mind at rest.

I can report folks that Ali is doing well. He is putting on weight and growing well and is definitely much brighter and happier and full of energy. Just have to hope that this continues and we have no unexpected set backs :wish:
I am sorry for the delay in an update however we are utterly swamped with cases at the moment.
I have added a few photos for you all below of the little man that have been taken over the last few days. He is now 8 days old... paws and fingers are all very well crossed.

sorry for the delay folks in getting an update to you things at the Harbour are exceptionally hectic.
Pleased to say that wee Ali is still with us and a wee gutsy boy. We were in shock to watch him toddle off to the litter tray of his own accord at just 19 days old and have a pee!!! He is a wee gem and a good set of lungs on him by the screaming he does every day!! LOL

Hi guys, apologies for lack of updates for a while... to say things at the harbour have been hectic is an understatement and there just never seems to be enough hours in the day to get round everything that needs done. Here are some updated pics for you of Ali. He has just turned 10 weeks old and after a rather touch and go week with him last week he has once again bounced back and fighting fit bless him.
He has just had his first vaccination and we are awaiting to see if he takes any reaction especially after being so ill just 10 days or so ago... fingers crossed.
He is definitely full of character and a right little fighter. We have affectionately nicknamed him baby Archie after another cat we have at the moment who has very similar markings and lets just say his favourite past time is chasing the volunteers round swiping at their bottoms much to his and usually our amusement.

lol Skiddaw - he'll be staying as Ali. Archie is a large male tom we have in just now whose middle name is certainly Trouble!!
Ali has done well and has had no reaction to his vaccination :) Great news after a few rocky weeks with him. He is such a little fighter. Will try for some update pics this weekend :)

Have to say Sarah and Paul have had sleepless nights with this little tyke and I know just how much heart and soul sarah has put in to this boy working her magic and looking after her human son Aeryn, coping with her own health issues and of course not forgetting the Harbour kids the permanant residents and the guests and their new doggie to
Paul and Sarah are one very special couple and who I am proud to call friends, no bias really but I do have a Harbour baby on foster forever with us Miss Gigi Skye ;D

Hi guys, really sorry for the lack of updates. Paul & I are running on empty at the moment.
I can tell you all however that Ali has now moved onto his forever home. It was one of the hardest adoptions we have done but we know he has gone to a wonderful home where he will be pampered and kept safe. I will do my best to get some pics online for you all taken just before he left. :hug: :hug:
