Hi folks,
(http://www.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Alfie_Adoption_Day.jpg)
It doesn't seem possible but today is the second Anniversary of Alfie's Adoption.
I think these lyrics from Steven Curtis Chapman's song about adoption "When Love Takes You In" pretty much sum things up.
Happy Adoption Day "Little Al", every day you bring me so much joy little fella.
We're having a double celebration at "Kemp Towers" tonight as Frankie's birthday is sometime in April so many new toys and special food tonight and something for the "boys" as well :)
Cheers
Leigh

Thanks,
I just had some more cause for celebration,
:garf:
I had to go to the hospital this morning for the results of "utra-sound, heart scan thingy wotsit" that I had last year and all is clear so looks like my hearts now in good shape. I popped in quickly to see mum whose nursing home is nearby and then to a local pet shop to buy the puds some "special food" Feline - Bozita Turkey and Rabit flavours which they'll probably turn their noses up at in favour of their "beloved" Felix "oh so meaty/fishy", three new mice and another large box of catnip. :)
Cheers

great news Leigh, and the sun is shining as well!

Thanks Dawn, yes a huge relief knowing that I've passed my M.O.Y, there's life in the 'ol fella yet LOL, it's great that the sun is shining today in more ways than one :) :)
Thought I'd post the full song lyrics from "When Love Takes You In" for all our adopted fur-babes :)
I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream
Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in
And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in
---
Cheers

Happy day Alfie, sorry I a bit late ;D

Hope you had a happy Alfie day :cheer:

Thanks folks,
We had a very nice evening playing with their new toys etc. Of course I was spot on the money where their "special" food treat was concerned. Alfie took a sniff and then miaowed loudly as if to say "what's this rubbish?, where's my Felix?" even Frankie who I've never ever seen refuse food, took a couple of bites and wandered away so that lot went into the bin and they tucked into their usual food ;D.
They are really good when it comes to my food they leave me alone and never try and get some but on Sunday I cooked some gammon in my new(ish) slow cooker and, when I opened the lid after 8 hours cooking and next thing I knew Frankie, who usually "waddles" up to his bowl just as I', putting it down, not a second before, not a second later, was all around my feet miaowing until he got some, ;D Alfie on the other hand wasn't bothered.
Cheers
