And thanks everyone from me too.  This is a day I never thought we'd see, and yet the little old fella outfoxed us all.  Never mind what the vet said.  Paddy's already written his list "fer Santie Claws".  He's got a right little belly on him, cos I'm happy to say he's never stopped eating today, and as we had a trip to Jollyes, he's had lots of little treats (although I confess he didn't seem impressed....  :doh:).    I bless the day we ever had the good fortune to bring this little lad home with us.  If I lived a thousand years I could never repay the absolute joy he's brought us.

Oh yes - sorry - Paddy's asked me to embarrass myself by admitting that he had to get us out of bed this morning, because we appeared to have overlooked the fact he was hungry, it was late (7 o clock) and he was huuuuunnngrreeeeee!!  :evillaugh:

He's a bit elusive, Jezebel - a sort of Howard Hughes of the cat world  :evillaugh: , although I do believe there are a couple of piccies of him knocking about somewhere.

I will be posting some piccies of his birthday, although he wouldn't co-operate and pose for the camera. 

He's a bit subdued this morning as I think he over-ate yesterday.  Really took his birthday noshing to extreme measures.  Not like him, as he's a little and often kinda guy normally.

Thanks Becka - I'm biased I know, but he is rather special.  At 15, he had a major stroke, and our vet told us he probably wouldn't last the night.  We took him home fully expecting we would lose him.  But, we didn't.  He battled back, and despite going deaf as a result, developing a heart murmur, hyper-t and then cancer, he still kept on going.  In January our vet told us to stop taking Paddy in for his regular two monthly check ups, as it was putting him under too much stress travelling and "he wouldn't be with us above three to four months anyway"

So yesterday was a bit of a milestone. 

And so long as he still has a quality of life which is good, he'll be left in peace to nosh, potter round the garden, watch the frogs in the pond and snooze next to the radiator.  The minute that quality of life diminishes then we'll let him go with the dignity he deserves.     :Luv:

Photos will be posted later today (if I can persuade/enlist/dragoon one of his aunties into being so kind as to assist his technologically challenged meowmy  :-[)

Wow Sue! What a guy! He's a real fighter. Just goes to show. My parent's old cat (they inherited from an old lady who went into a home) Felix went blind and got really confused and he used to wander around the house bumping into things if you moved anything, but he would purr and dribble if you petted him so he was clearly still  very happy. Eventually he passed in his sleep. Happy until the end, such a lovely old man he was!

May Paddy have many more happy times to come!  :Luv2:

Oh Felix sounds a lovely little gent, bless him.  Am so glad he went peacefully.  Paddy gets a little confused sometimes.  He'll wander into the room, stop for a moment with a little puzzled frown, as if to say "er, what did I come in here for....?"  before tottering off to do something else instead.  :evillaugh:

Am pleased to say he's been noshing again this evening.  After a little wash, he's settled down to bask in the glory of his 20th Burfday Party courtesy of Purrs and all his "wunnerful Aunties"
