Must be due to recently insuring him Susanne, as Zia is 19 and I only paid £50 excess on her claim - still waiting for Molly's to be processed.

You don't have to do anything to renew - it said that on my renewal letter. but I really thought I had set up the dd for Jaffa as you do it online. It was ages before I realised I wasn't payign for him. so he's only just got insured now.

I ended up phoning them last year to make sure they had received the payment. I was in such a panic ... How hard is it for them to send a letter confirming you've paid and the policy has been renewed

I think it must be just for new policies and can't understand why Lottie's is £75 excess.

Don't think Axa paperwork is the clearest Susanne and remember I almost overlooked returning initial direct debit as I thought I had supplied sufficient info online for it to be set up. Also have never got to grips with whether it's necessary to telephone to confirm renewals; so I always do just in case.

ok, so I've just got a quote for a fictitious 4 year old somali called Jasper and it came up with £75 excess. Somewhere on the site I noticed something that implied choice of excess but it didn't seem to give me a choice. Incidentally, the quote was £20 more than I pay for Mosi (I put in exactly same age as Mosi)

Jaffa is 12 coming up to 13.

Maybe it is a new thing for new policies but doesn't affect renewals, although that doesn't explain Lottie's being £75. Jaffa's is a new policy as I tried to sort him out with Axa last year and it didn't seem to be going out of my bank account. I think I forgot to return the dd form

So I've signed him up again recently brand new. Mosi's was a renewal.

I have 7 policies with them and have been humming and hahhing about stopping them for the younger ones having built up a fund over last year. If they changed excesses to £75 that would probably tip the scales with me.

The girls have a £50 excess, but my neighbours policy taken out last Nov has a £75 excess. I wonder if they are honouring older customers.

as far as it seemed to work new policies were all 75 and ones taken out over a year ago were 50, cant remember when they changed the new ones but was before oct last year when mine renewed.

Hmmm, so its not universal then. No wonder its confusing

I just did a quote and Memphs would be cheaper then the old policy but more than the new one and with a higher excess. This insurance biz sure does feel like potluck at times

We've had renewals come through for ours (last 3 renewals were for Dinah, Millie and Ruby) in February and all still have the £50 excess. Could peds have a higher excess Lottie?

I was assuming that mine would go up - but both are still £50 (not that I am complaining, it just came as a shock). I even asked my mum if she would double check for me in case I was going blind lol.

I'm sure I've read a number of times that the excess from AXA has changed from £50 to £75. Is this change just for new policies?

I received my renewel documents today fully expecting to see a change, but was pleasantly greeted with no change AND Memphys policy has decreased significantly - it's now £20 cheaper than when I first insured him

Though I've not actually made any saving as Mollys is £50 more Lol.

Does everyone else have a £50 excess? Maybe I'm mistaken and there has been no increase.
