Hi, I'm new and just wanted to say hello. I'm a willing slave to my two substitute children, Beau - a 9 yr old black moggy and the apple of my eye - and Cha Cha, a 2 yr old cream & white British shorthair. Cha Cha was bought to keep Beau company after his sister Jolie was killed on the road outside our house and then I had to have my darling girl Holly put to sleep at the grand old age of 19, all within the space of 2 months. Luckily they get along like a house on fire!
We also have two chickens - Constance and Augusta (a Splash Orpington and a Blue Orpington respectively) who have both started laying for the first time this week - cause for great excitement!
Oh, and I have a lovely husband too!
Looking forward to being part of the forum :)

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I can only see Constance and Augusta :-:
I think your privacy setting is blocking access to the catpix
You can re-set the setting for each picture separately on Flicker, so should be able to choose "Public" then we'll be able to view them :hug:

I tell you what, if anyone tells you that keeping chickens is easy, they are lying! Pretty high maintenance, but they are hilarious :) But they have just started laying over the last couple of weeks, so they're at least doing their bit to contribute!
Unlike my kitties, who are obviously far too superior to us to have to make any contribution apart from the odd mouse or rat...which they still manage to catch even though they are now confined to just the house and garden (I had cat fencing installed after Beau's sister Jolie was killed on the road a couple of years ago) :)
