When we were up in Edinburgh recently we went to the Maison de Moggy cat cafe! I wasn't sure at first as it seemed strange paying to pet cats but I really enjoyed the visit and so did my daughter! They only allow a few people at a time and the cats have an amazing home. They are all pedigree cats and have 2 cat nannys to care for them at all times as well as serve drinks and yummy cakes. They really are laid back and seemed to enjoy the attention. There were a few rules like not touching a sleeping cat and gelling your hands but it was a cool place. My daughter wants to start her own now with rescue cats!

Great pics :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

It looks great and I'm glad you both enjoyed it. Lovely pics especially the cat in a box, there had to be a cat in a box ;D ;D ;D
-
Fabulous photos. There was one at Totnes. But I have just looked on the internet and it says it is closed. I would love to visit one. Great idea for your daughter to open one with rescue cats. Found this one in Nottingham for rescue cats which might give your daughter a few ideas.

It looks as if you had a great time and I'm glad to hear that the cats are well cared for.
I had hoped to visit Lady Dinah's Emporium when we are in London next month but, the day after booking opened for our chosen date, they are already fully booked unless I want to pay £35 per head for afternoon tea! :(

It looks like you had a great time! We really loved visiting Kitty Cafe and highly recommend it

Looks a stunning place and Lupin would love it, except the stroking
-
It does seem very well kitted out (no pun intended!)
Nothing against pedigrees, but it would be nice if they had some moggies too. Pauline looks fab, her fluffy feet! :evillaugh:
There is one opening in Newcastle soon, they have taken all rescue cats from us (Westgate Ark)

Gizmo and Stan are such sweethearts, they will love all the attention!!! The rest are all kittens really, Jaffa and Tokyo are about 7 months now
They were going to be called The Pussy Parlour  :evillaugh:  but thankfully changed it to Mog on the Tyne.
We had a visit to see if the regular volunteers were happy with the set up. I think its £5 for an hour, then your refreshments, you can book online too.
-
The Edinburgh one did have a board with rescue cats available for adoption on it so I think they are involved in that side as well :)

They were going to be called The Pussy Parlour  :evillaugh:  but thankfully changed it to Mog on the Tyne.
Thank the Lord for that. Way too "Geordie Shore" :shify:
The one thing that worries me with these enterprises is that many small businesses fail in the first year, and if they do, what happens to the moggies? Just a little niggle......
Ems, is Stan the same Stan who had the broken jaw?
-
Stan the man is gorgeous ;D ;D
Seems there is a market for these places and they are springing up all over cept here!
-
That was my only reservation really Sue, but they were going to get their cats from somewhere, and if the worst comes to the worst then hopefully the Ark could try and get them good homes.....
Yes Stan is lush, a great big softie, the one with the broken jaw.
They took mostly kittens simply to integrate them easier, although it may add to the appeal for some people during the early days! Hopefully the fate and the ark can both benefit from each other!

Jaffa and Tokyo are about 7 months now
Jaffa is such a good name ;) ;D
Love the pics and wish one would open around here. I'd definitely visit.
-
Yes indeed Ems, and I'm glad the cats have been given this chance. I'm sure if anything did go awry (Heaven forfend) people would rally round, and The Ark would open it's generous doors once more. I do love the work they do, and will be forever grateful for our Moray.
I love Stan. He won my heart bless him :Luv:
Jaffa is a good name, isn't it? :evillaugh:
-
I would have to go with very deep concealed pockets and the cream, first shown, the silver tabby and the blue would be stashed inside them before I left :naughty:
-
The MdM is so lovely. Such a tranquil place and gorgeous cats that would make anyone happy.
Mog on The Tyne is a brill name
