Urgent, special home required a cute black and white cat! Bindie is being rehomed from Hampshire and her story is very sad. She shows all the classic signs of traumatic events happening in life - she is about 6 years old. She trusts very few and those she does have to work really hard with her. Her behaviour is unpredictable out of fear. Her ideal forever home is with someone who will understand and care for her and in time she will come round, someone experienced with troubled cats. Binde is a potentially cute little cat with a past and deserves a chance, otherwise her future is uncertain unfortunately! Please call me if you can offer her a chance in life. She is a black and white with a beautiful black beauty spot.
I am contacted by charities in the UK when they have great difficulty rehoming particular cats and so far I have been successful in all my placements. I firmly believe Binde, in time, will make a lovely pet. Please help before it is too late. She can be rehomed anywhere throughout the country - we so desperately want to find her the right home, and we will travel to do that.

Good evening Deb and :welcome: to Purrs
I wish you the best of luck in finding a home for Binde
-
Thank you - I feel slightly more reassured that someone has replied and very touched you are sending her/me good wishes. Take care Deb
-
Aww bless her, she is so beautiful :Luv2:
I hope you can find the right home for Bindie, all she need is some one who has time and patience and lots of love to give.
-
Aww, that little face :Luv2: :Luv2: I'm sure her forever home is out there somewhere.
-
Awww, bless her, what a little sweetie! I do hope that you are able to find her a forever home soon.
-
Thank you everyone!
-
How is she with other cats? She may be a scardy cat cus she really just needs a bit of company to help her chill out a bit ... two heads are better than one and all that ;)
She is a beauty and I'm sure if she finds her right human she will turn into a lovely companion.
-
Any update about her? Would love to know if she found a good home.

Dear All
It is really not good news, she is being put down at the end of this month unless I find her a new home. The reality is she cannot be rehomed with any other animals or children. If I did not have an old cat, I would be the ideal owner i.e. experienced with a cat with neuroses, able to ignore them and expect nothing from them except to give her a home with warmth, love and food. To ignore her bad behaviour, hissing and spitting in fear. One minute fine, the next not. Eventually, hand on heart I know when she gets settled somewhere with no-one to react back, she will be happy and move on with her life, however unfortunately because of her fearful behaviour the charity she is with have no more space for her and no more potential owners - all wanting sweet little cats with no problems. Please help, I am quite broken hearted and there is only me now searching for this special person/miracle person out there.
-
Have you placed her on the Top Cats page on CatChat? You might get more response there. Most people who chat on here already have cats and can only take on difficult ones who get on with other cats; apart from those who run rescues, who might know of the right 'slave'.
Can't she be placed with a no-kill rescue who will give her a home for life in the rescue itself?
-
I am trying all the rescues as best I can - I am very experienced at rehoming cats with no hope, but this one defeats me for as I have been distracted with ill health. I will try your advice on Top Cats on Catchat. She has only come back into my domain by about a week and I have flyers in vets in different parts of the country. I will be so upset if she gets put down. Thanks for your support. Take care
-
OMG she only has a week then. :'( :'( :'(
Such beautiful eyes and its true virtually everyone here have cats and very hard to get someone experienced with no cats.
-
She's a little stunner. How dreadful if she ends up being put down, because there must be someone, somewhere who could give this little girl a chance. :(
-
Thank you everyone - tonight I am going to plough through the internet and see what I can do. Please also put out feelers if you can. I am very touched by your concern especially as I have personally struggled healthwise this past two weeks, which has made it a lot harder.
-
Try pm Coventry Cats I dont know if they would have room to take her but worth a try
-
Thanks will do.
-
Another one on here is Paws Inn.
I have asked another but no response
-
Thanks again, will follow up on each and every suggestion.
-
:innocent:
I didn't actually suggest this of course, as it's very naughty and not the ideal thing for the cat BUT rather than have her pts.....
would it be possible to take her out to somewhere where there are lots of farm cats and just, you know, let her loose.
The colony may allow her to join them, at the very least she'd have SOME chance of surviving as a feral.
Of course, I'm not suggesting this.... :innocent:
-
i know what you are saying, however she absolutely hates all other cats and rather than seek protection from a colony she would either run or fight which would just about finish her off and not in a good way. I wish she was more that type as rehoming her as a feral at this moment in time would be far easier. Thanks though for thinking outside the box, I really appreciate it.
-
Has the charity she's with tried to find a fosterer who could help with her behavioural problems? This type of cat, in my experience, takes a long time to come round, but it can be done. I'd be tempted to try myself, but have other cats.
There must be some vacant foster home which might take her on. She'd be a wonderful cat afterwards.
-
The sanctuary is one of the biggest chain in the countries and all their fosterers are used and usually have other cats. Binde cannot be with other cats. They are working alongside me still, but there is this awful deadline. I am hoping there is someone out there who would like to do what you and I know would work ultimately, but they would need patience that is the key.
-
I think the main problem Binde faces is not liking other cats, otherwise she would be easier to place with those who have experience of problematic cats. My main experience is with ferals, who have similar distrust problems, but usually get on with each other.
I hope you manage to save her. Perhaps CatChat will help you find someone. I homed 5 ex-ferals from the Top Cats page in 2007 (another one went to a friend). All the homes which took them already had cats, but no young children.
Good luck for her.
-
Thanks all you say is absolutely true. Will go back on to my profile on CatChat tonight.
-
Deb, thank you for all you are doing to save Bindie, I'm so sorry that I cannot do anything myself to help.

Thanks everyone and I am hoping we can get Binde to West Yorkshire. There is an issue with timing and travel at present. If any one knows of someone who can help transport her at least part of the way and may be we could form a human chain to get her there. I am in Bedfordshire so she needs to come from Hampshire to there. I can only do the travel the Bank Holiday weekend, which is worrying as next Wednesday is 'D' day, but I am trying to negotiate for more time, which unfortunately may not work, but then we will just have to take an emergency decision to get her somewhere for a few days. Alternatively if she can be moved any time from now virtually, or after I speak to West Yorkshire Cat Rescue and it is all confirmed, then I would be grateful and we can get her safely into somewhere that is offering her sanctuary. My no. is 07760128595 if you can help. Big thanks to everyone. Deb
-
Debs, I can take her for a few days as emergency to save her if this helps. Also, I can transport from Leicester to West Yorkshire on either a weekend or bank holiday weekend. Lets get her there :)
-
Hi Moira you are my heroine! I could therefore do the route from Bedfordshire to Leicester and then you could take over. I will once again confirm that the ex Cat Protection League lady could get her to me and it may have to therefore be this weekend (or next weekend) depending on the chat with West Yorkshire Cat Rescue. I am trying to reign in my excitement/happiness until everything is firmed up. Thanks again.
-
;D
Deb - will talk to you properly when our phone lines are open but we can do some cat shuffling on a weekend that will work with you and Moira (thank you Moira) xx
-
Dear All in the last hour a cat rescue centre near where Binde is and who shares exactly the same philosophies as West Yorkshire Cat Rescue have offered to take Binde and are giving one hundred per cent reassurances she will not be put down. I was in discussion with this gentleman earlier in the week and at first they had to decline, but they had a rethink about her and she may be fostered out to a one person, no other animal home as well, which is the ideal situation for the time being. I will continue to support them heavily to find her forever home, but for the time being she is safe and I cannot thank all of you very, very special people, some of who I have spoken to, very much. You restore my faith in human nature. We can all now have a happier weekend than was the original prospect and a donation will be winging its way to West Yorkshire! Deb xx
-
This is such good news for Binde. :)

Thanks again
-
So happy to hear she is safe. Have been checking posts everyday to see if she had been saved. Please keep us up to date with her progress, would love to hear how she gets on.
-
Will do.
-
I am so pleased that she now has somewhere to go and hope its the start of a new life for her.
Thank you Sam and Moira you are just the greatest ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
well done Deb you worked so hard to help her, so pleased she will now be safe
-
Without all your support it would be have been a million times more difficult morale wise, especially if it had got to next Wed!
-
Hurrah for Binde! :briggin:
-
I'm so pleased she has a happy new beginning. You've done so much to try to save her. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Have a great future, Binde.
:cheer:
-
Wonderful news!
-
You all helped and I am eternally grateful. She seems to be settling in to the sanctuary, however do remember she does need a forever home, preferably within a 10 mile radius of Lymington, but at least we can go at a much slower pace. Do let me know if you are interested, they are going to work on her behavourial issues too! Remember where I am. :thanks:
-
I hope they can sort out her problem as everyone here has one or more cats
-
Gill is right, if you know of anyone else who may be interested. Thanks again.
