When viewing on tapatalk (or safari on my phone) I can see them as smileys but on a PC I just see random symbols!

How strange! It's a bit frustrating not just with forums but texting friends too lol

I already have those on my phone, shame they don't work on both tapatalk and regular PC as that would have been problem solved! I once sent an entire text message of those smilies telling a story through the pictures alone... except I sent it to an android phone so it came out as a load of random symbols!

I have just popped online to check if my cat image appeared. It seems the iphone smilies appear only on the tapatalk app but not when I log on the computer.
Just the same as the computer icons only appear as words on the tapatalk app.

For those of you with IPhone, download the free app 'Emoji' and you will get about ten different pages with smilies that appear as a globe next to the 123 button 🐱

Posting is easy and you do get to use the smilies.

Ooh, wonder if I'm being a bit dense or if it works slightly differently on the iphone comapred to android devices - how do you get the smilies? Can you see smilies when you're viewing posts?

I know a few of the codes eg colon + bracket = a smiley face so sometime type them in but would like access to smilies if it's possible  :wow:

There is a button with a smile on the bottom right.... not sure if it's on the iPhone.... should be.

As for seeing smilies.... for some reason not on Purrs... ??

Hi Huge,
I have tappatalk for iPhone, I find it great because it shows all new posts rather than having to navigate through pages. I paid £1.99 for it and I think it's pretty much worth it! Very easy to use!

I have it for Android on my S2 :)

It is worth the money! With all the latest updates it is user friendly and some nice colour choices.  :Luv2:

I use it all the time for forums (mainly car forums) and now Purrs!  :Luv: :Luv:

When people post pictures they are easy to see and view.

I have it for iPhone too and would agree with Tiggys mum - the only annoying thing is the lack of emoticons and sometimes posts are missing but that's rare and it's really obvious as you get a blank space.... You just click on it to quote and it all comes up.

I use it all the time and the purrs full site I'm never on now. It will be the same sol for android I'd imagine.

Easy for seeing new posts and easier than the full site for photos IMHO!

Worth the money :-)

Ok, thanks for that. I'll see if anyone has any issues with the android version and then I'll get it. I have no problem with paying for apps, but only if they're going to work ;) :p

I have it for the iPhone and can't see that the android version would be much different. I'm a heavy Purrs user (it really is an addiction!) and wouldn't be without tapatalk now, well worth the money.

The only issues are that you don't get access to the smilies and very occasionally, maybe 1 in 100 posts, it displays only the first line of the post so you might see:

Welcome to Purrs

When in fact the post is:

Welcome to purrs

Hope you enjoy it here blah blah blah.

This is just a minor annoyance to me and there's a workaround in that if a post looks to be missing something you can just tap 'quote' as though you were replying and then the full post will be quoted.

Due to this I'd give it 8/10 but even so it's invaluable for reading/replying to Purrs which I do a lot!

When I first came here, there was a pop up for the app tapatalk. I then noticed you had info on it, but it is no longer free. It's now £1.99. I was wondering if anyone has it, an if it's any good. Don't want to pay 2 quid for something that will end up being worse than using the full site on my phone, which is pretty hard anyway ;-)
