We have him back!!!!!! ;D ;D

I was looking out of my bedroom window last night at about 12.30ish but didnt see anything, checked again about 5 mins later and spotted him up the road opposite coming out of a garden so my boyfriend went out a shouted him and Talon kept shouting back but he couldnt see him, eventually he came out from behind a car but wouldnt get to close so fella couldnt get him, i rang him and he made me shout him and he came closer, i told fella to sit down on the floor and see if he would come to him, and he came closer again so he tried to catch him but he ran away. I told him to keep walking as he might follow him and he followed him to the corner of the road and i was then able to shout him through my window and he sat on the corner shouting back while my fella came into get some tuna for him. Once the tuna was put in front of him he managed to grab him and bought him back in, he was going at his food but was petrified of the noise the dish was making, i dont think he has eaten in all the time he was out. Inbetween eating he kept turning round to kiss Freya on the head which was cute. He was scratching at our bedroom door all night though and this morning just wants lots of fuss and attention. I think he is glad to be home.

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: for all your help.

The latest update is My mum spoke to someone at work who said that a woman who lives on the next road down had apparently seen Talon and she also has another black and white cat that she has taken in, apparently she has been feeding the two cats. So i sent my boyfriend round to find out which house it was and when he went round to the road he went to a few of the houses there and the one that he was specifically told about wouldnt open the door to him and just said that she hadnt seen any cats even though there were cat bowls with food in, so he has come home in a mood now because he thinks someone is lying and that someone has him and wont give him back. He has been out shouting him again and the posters are ready to be put up tomorrow. I shall be visiting that womans house again tomorrow to find out for myself.

honey he has only been missing a couple of days. If he is out there, he will come home. You know he is not dead on the road, so it is possible he just got a big fright and found himself in unfamiliar territory and is still on his way home, but finding it a little harder. I had a cat disappear for 2 weeks once, he was obviously trapped somewhere (was dehydrated when he got back home). Letterbox your neighbours Doorstop them Get out there and do something to find him and load his details on all those websites that joanne06 kindly supplied.

Poor girl she is so lonely for her friend.

As least she is drinking so shouldnt get dehydrated.

You could try warming a hot water bottle(Dont fill it too full) and wrapping it in a towel and putting it in her normal bed, it may help to comfort her a bit.

I would give her another day to start eating and if she doesnt speak to your vet and explain that ypur other cat is missing so she is grieving but wont eat now. You can get something from the vets called AD diet which is for sick and convalescing cats but cos its so tasty, sometimes it will tempt cats to start eating again. Its about £1 a tin but will keep in the fridge for a couple of days and is like a pate that turns like cream if you stir it.

Yes she is my other cat.

We gave her some chicken and ham tonight and she hasnt touched it. I saw her drink some water earlier though.

Like i said though she has never been on her own so i am going to be concerned about her tonight when we go to bed . I would let her in our room but we tried that last night and she kept climbing in to the cot.

Is that your other cat?

How long has she not eaten for?

Sounds like she is very upset but if she does not eat for more than 24 hrs you need to have a word with your vet. Is she drinking?

I do hate it when bureaucrats fail to personalise the situtation. Medway Council was excellent. I had a response within 24 hours to my enquiry about the horrid possibility for Smidgen. There are many B&W cats out there, so the odds are against it being Talon so fingers crossed. In the horrid event that it is him, it will help your other cat to get over it if she can see the body. I find that if this is possible, the animals work out what has happened and get on with things much better than people do. Otherwise, just see if you can maintain a normal routine at home and that may help your other cat to settle better. I do so hope for your sake that it is not Talon. But I also know how hard it is to stay positive. Chin up, and with any luck you will be welcoming him home soon...

All you can do for your other cats is lots of attention, cuddles and strokes cos cats are like us and miss their friends. It can take a long time but they do get over it eventually.

Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to try and make my other cat feel better, she is sulking in a big way and she is walking around crying and sitting at the patio door crying and just wants to be held and sit on your knee. We are giving her as much attention as possible but i dont think its making her feel that much better.

I feel bad at night time when she is sat on the landing on her own now cause she has never been on her own before  :(

Thanks for all your advice.

So far i have been to neighbours houses, all except the ones over the back as they arnt very nice or approachable so have to have someone with me for that one. I have called my vet and the identachip place, my fella has driven around the neighbourhood numerous times.

Tomorrow i plan to call the rspca and pdsa, the neighbouring vets and the council and i think my fella is going to make some posters to put up.

Sorry he is missing but you need to take the baby for a stroll and go out looking for him. Posters are very very important and the advice on Sams link tells you all sorts that may help.

Hope you find him soon

I have just prepared a very elaborate missing poster for my boy who strolled in this evening. If you want help designing a poster you can put in people's letter boxes, I am happy to help. You do need to get out there, and call RSPCA, PDSA and all the vets within a few miles radius. People tend to take injured animals to their own vets who are not necessarily in the immediate neighbourhood... my thoughts are with you.
