Dear little Indie, she was soo pretty, and such a sweetheart. I am so sorry this has happened - its completely heartbreaking. Your tiny angel was loved and cared for to the moon and back. No one can ask for more than that. You will never forget her and she will have special place in the hearts of those who have followed her story.

You gave her the love she needed at the end of her life on earth.

She is now at The Bridge and pain free but it is unfortunate that you will be in pain now

Run free Indie at the Rainbow Bridge and grow up to be a big strong cat. We've certainly been in the presence of an Angel, they come for such a short time and touch many hearts. Big hugs to you all.

I had a kitten as a child who went very quickly, it is devastating, and yes you do recover slowly from it but you never forget them. Smokey was with us just 4 weeks and passed away but she has lived on in my heart and Rainbow bridge for at least 40 plus years.

Firstly so very sorry for the loss of Indie, she had a great week with you but sometimes we are only allowed a fleeting moment with them before they decide they have to leave us, she is joining some very special Clan cats and Sundae kitten at the Bridge and they will look out for her

Only ever borrowed never owned but always a pawprint in our hearts x

Such devastating news, I don't know what to say.

Play hard at the bridge little Indie. Your life on this earth was too short but you were loved, oh how you were loved, and that love will never die.

Katie I think you knew in your heart that Indie had real problems before she even came to live with you but you loved her and weren't prepared to give up on her without a fight. Sadly it was one you couldn't win but as somebody has already said, she knew more love in the one week she was with you than many cats know in a much longer lifetime. Take care of yourself and please know we're all here for you and sharing your pain.

OMG this is so horrible. You must be devastated and I am so sorry for you. Poor Indie didn't have the best start to life did she? But you gave her love and security during her final week. I don't really know what else to say as this is such a shock. Take care of yourself

horrible. I'm so sorry Katie, really sad for you. She had the best time with you and you took away her pain as soon as you could. She may not have had such a merciful release were she not with you. Please try to take care of yourself and talk to us on here. I would hate to think of your health deteriorating as a result of this sad sad event.

Terrible news, and I'm not sure what I can say that will help, but I'll try.
Firstly, it's not your fault. That might seem obvious to some, but it's quite common to assume blame, even when reasons says otherwise. Indie had a better, if short, life with you than at her previous home.
Secondly, you might be tempted to get another cat. If you feel up to it, it would be a great idea, but don't let yourself be bullied by anyone either way. I think any cat would be lucky to have you care for them, but only when you're ready.
I don't know how you came to get Indie, the impression is that it wasn't from a rescue (apologies if I'm wrong). If and when you're ready to give another cat a home, I'd strongly recommend a rescue. You can find your nearest here: http://www.catchat.org/adoption/
Whatever you decide to do, and at whatever pace, just remember that you made a positive difference to Indie's life.

My heart is breaking for you and she was so absolutely gorgeous. She lived her last few days with you to the full and knew she was loved and had learned quickly to give back that love
