Very bright eyed and gorgeous  :Luv2:

Bonnie's indoor and not chubby, plays with toys but not a great deal of running. She is 15 so maybe it's cos she is older that she doesn't put on weight?  Maybe she is just like some humans, can eat what she wants and not get fat  :evillaugh:  She has 2 - 3 pouches a day and biscuits and loads of Dreamies every day too.

Maybe throw something down the stairs that she will run after to make her get some exercise?  But do remember that cats are made to sleep, eat and be pamperd ;) ;)

I have a question about Bebe....she is putting on a lot of weight and in my opinion is too large, what can we do to help her lose some chub and keep active? She doesn't really play as such, she sometimes chases Bruno around the house but mostly she sleeps...eats and sleeps some more. Being indoor cats I'm aware that they don't get the same chance to exercise but just wondered if there is anything we can do to help?

Aaw bless him, I am not suprised it didnt last, they hate them.

Poor Evie had to wear one for a fortnight and was sick of her life  :( it was funny watching her try to groom herself tho when all she was doing was licking the cone!  :evillaugh:

Haha sweet :) Bruno would get the label part of the cone in front of his sight whilst looking down and because it was blocking his view he would try to move his head to see past it, but to his surprise it kept moving with him lol such lovely little things :)

Is today "cone off" day?

Technically yes but he's not been wearing it since yesterday. Hes just not bothered by his lack of manhood. Lol :) he licks it very occasionally which we stop and then he just carries on his own naughty way :)

The lampshade of shame....    :evillaugh:   No, ours didnt have one either, but I think some vets do still give them depending on technique used, stitches, etc.

Glad he's not suffered too much after his "ordeal" - clearly not when he's back to full snoozling duties in the morning, at anyroad.   :Luv:

Usually when they've been neutered it can take some time for the hormones to settle down, but given that his would barely have got going, I dont think it will be too long - his exuberance is just natural kitten high spirits.  They'll become more sedate around 12 - 18 months old.   ;)  usually.   :shify:

He has no stitches......she just said wear it for 3 days, stop any licking.

And 12 to 18 months of Bruno madness?! Oh joy haha :)

Alfs was almost 1 year old when he has his op. You wouldn't have known he had anything done and he certainly didn't have to wear The Lampshade of Shame

If it was me I'd take it off when you are around and can watch him. I had to make sure Xander didn't bite Buffy on her side as they were very playful, but appart from that they were fine. With mine I think wearing the cone would have been worse than the operation.

Xander was exactly the same once he'd been spayed he was maybe a bit quiet for a couple of days after but nothing that noticeable. Why does he have a head cone? Neither of mine had one when they were spayed and I had no problems at all?

Oh Bruno has slipped the whole quiet phase. he came home and looked a bit drunk but still carried on in his usual crazy way.  They've given him a cone to stop him pickingt his bits. He only has to wear it for 3 days so off Thursday

How's Bruno this morning?   ;D

Yes, that was why I had warned he may be a bit hyper-active.   ;)

Like he has not even had an op. He is bouncing around and being a naughty cheeky boy like always. Tho I can inform you that he does not like the head collar one tiny bit. I took it off this morning so we could have morning cuddles. He likes to run his head and face all over mine for about 20mins in the morning and he couldn't do that with his cone on. Bless him.

If having his man pride removed is going to calm him down, how long does it take to take effect?? Tho he is only 4 and half months old anyways so still very much a baby.

Isn't he growing up!

Others come back absolutely hyperactive, and bounce round the house like a lunatic - just depends on the anaesthetic used.  If it's the latter, it will usually wear off later in the day, and then he'll sleep to make up for it.

Mosi came back bouncing around like a lunatic but there was no wearing off and no sleeping  :shify:

He'll make up for that when he gets back.  Be prepared for one of two scenarios.  Some cats come back from neutering very sleepy and just wanting to snooze it off.  Others come back absolutely hyperactive, and bounce round the house like a lunatic - just depends on the anaesthetic used.  If it's the latter, it will usually wear off later in the day, and then he'll sleep to make up for it.

Methinks he will also grow out of this.  It's typical unruly kitten behaviour.

Have you tried the distraction methods, and if so, what is his typical reaction to each method?

How about tubular bandages on your arms?   Sorry but I have a feeling He will just stop when HE wants to.

Good luck on Monday, that might calm him down a bit  ;)

So lovely people, Bruno is still biting!! He is over 4 months old now and it ruddy hurts!!! I have cuts all over my arm, which dont look good, and they are sore. Any suggestions to stop him because we've tried everything and he still does it. He is having his little Bruno balls removed on Monday...bless him
