So happy to say that our darling Amber came home at 3am this morning.  She seems fine, very purry and happy to be home with us and we are over the moon to have her back.

Thank you all so much for your support and kind posts.

This is a great site !

Thank you all so much for your posts.. its very kind.  We have been out most of the day, knocking on doors, putting leaflets through and posters up.  She is definitely not in our home, we've looked and looked everywhere.
It is totally out of character for Amber.. she is always around.  Her twin sister is miserable without her and so are we.
I have had cats go missing before (have always had cats in my life) and thankfully they have always returned.  Its such a horrible feeling whilst they are missing but we are keeping positive.
I had one cat disappear for nearly a week (we think she was locked in a garage over Easter hols) and when she turned up she was dreadfully ill and nearly didnt make it.  But the vets were great and she made a full recovery and lived to 18 years !

I've just had a call about a tabby cat who was found, but not ours.. so I will post this now too separately and hope it may help someone else.

Thanks again

Hello Laura and   :welcome:  to Purrs - sorry that you have found us under these circumstances.

Take a look at Sam's excellent tips here:

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

I think that is is still early days for you as Amber has only been missing since yesterday.  If this is out of character check places where a cat could possibly get stuck i.e. your neighbours sheds and garages etc.

My cat Cleo disappeared for a couple of days but I was not too worried as this was not unusual for her, I heard miaowing in my daughter's bedroom and she had actually been locked in a cupboard, so even in your own house they can nip into a wardrobe when you are not looking and accidentally get shut in.

A friend of ours found a cat in the back of his van and he took the cat to a local rescue, they are known for getting into cars, vans etc.

Good luck with your search and I hope that Amber comes home soon.

Click into this link below and have a read through Sam's advice, there are lots of good tips in it that will help greatly!

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

I followed Sam's advice and found the leafletting method worked as I got my cat back after following it!

Good Luck and I do hope your beautiful Amber returns home safe and sound!  :Luv:

Sorry to welcome you to Purrs in such circumstances, Amber7.  Is Amber spayed?  And have you seen our lost cats tips section at http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.msg3901.html#msg3901

sorry that Amber is missing - have you tried the leafleting thing, I know others have managed to get cats back that way
