Luv Luv Luv :Congratulations Leigh and Alfie.  I'm so pleased one of us won and it couldn't have gone to a better furbabe (and slave) IMO.  Foxy sends her love to Alfie says she hopes he enjoys his "treats".

Thanks Gill,

I really hope that the links to CC and Purs and the FiV forum will bring good publicity to all the excellent and much needed work donw by rescues and cat lovers in general.

I've just gotten in from work and visiting my mum in her nursing home and it was great to be able to tell her the exciting news. With her memory all shot to pieces she'd forgotten all about the petmillions thing and it really was great to see the effect the news had on her. I've just been making a fuss of all the puds and especialluy Alfie of course. Alfie's such a down to earth cat, I got him some "special" food to celebrate but he just looked at me as if to say "what's this, where's my Felix fishy stuff?!"  Grin if he was human he'd be a strictly meat and two veg type, nothing fancy just plain old food.  Grin

I'm just going to sort out some pics so that he can choose the one for their website and write up something for the Croydon Animal Samaritans website/newsletter, his foster mum Liz was tickled pink with the news.

Cheers

Cheers Mark,

I just received an e-mail saying that they're putting up links to my favourite charity on their homepage along with a pic of my (Alfie's) choosing of the fella himself. At the time that we entered it was of course our beloved Cat Chat and they are also going to put a link to the FiV section on Purrs so that'll be good publicity for FiV puds and both Cat Chat and Purrs websites.

That's a nice idea Clare, anything that helps to educate and re-assure folks about FiV cats is, IMO, always very worthwhile.

Cheers to all

Leigh

All our puds are winners, all are special and all make us very proud to share their love, their trust and their company every day. I think it's great that so many FiV cats like Clare's Max and Alfie have been amongst the prize winners, I really hope that it sends out a message to anyone thinking of adopting a cat with FiV that they're every bit as loving and live "normal" lives just like any other cat.

I couldn't have put it better myself hun  Grin   I wonder if a link could be put to this thread on the FIV one to highlight this once more?

Grin Helen, Yes that was kinda what I was thinking, he might have a problem getting the numbers into the machine with the new "chip and pin" system in Pets at Home or Sainsburys but it'll be a lesson in thrift for him  Grin

Hiya,

Yes Helen, Alfie won the top prize, it wasn't anything like as much as that, it was $246.54 but this is a much needed help towards any vet bills etc., I'll be putting this aside as "Alfie's money" and he'll get a BIG treat from me tonight  Grin

I'm very proud of all our puds and so very very proud of Alfie, can't wait to get back from work and my mum's nursing home to let him know. I thought of e-mailing him but he'll probably be asleep  Grin

Thanks to all for their kind wishes

Hi folks,

I'm a but stunned, this is wonderful news. I didn't want to post anything too soon and steal Petmillions thunder. I've never won anything in my life and, one might say, I still haven't smile as this one is for Alfie. As you all know Alfie has FiV and so any winnings will help to go towards any medical bills but of course you all know that he'll get a very special treat and some very big hugs  Grin

Congratulations to all our Puddy Tat winners, they're all very special and we're all so very proud of them.

A BIG  thanks to Petmillions and all who kindly voted for me.

Love and furry headbuts from Alfie and the "strange human one"  Grin

Alfie

I have just received the following email from Petmillions for my entry last year (Foxy was one of the Finalists);

Dear Petmillions Finalist

Thank you for your support in the petmillions 2007 contest. We have raised a total of $346.88 for animal charities.  Our 2007 contest is now closed and the results are in.

You are one of the 53 runners up and as a result your winning share of the fund is $1.16 (one dollar sixteen cents).   We will be happy to transfer this amount to your paypal account alternatively we can add this to the charity which you have chosen to support in petmillions.  You have 14 days to claim your prize by confirming your paypal address or advising us to allocate it to your charity whom we will inform of your additional donation.  All unclaimed prizes will be given to charity.

Our 1st prize winner was Alfie - http://www.petmillions.com/vote.asp?vote=3116

Petmillions was created by 4 people passionate about animals and animal welfare.  We have taken no money from this contest - all costs have been covered by ourselves.  All entry money has been allocated to our charities and prizefund.  Both Petmillions and our charity partners would like to thank you for the support and the resulting donations from your participation.

Kind regards,
Helen

I know a few people on here have taken part in petmillions.com, there is some press out and about so I just wanted to confirm that the charity donation is 40% (not 20%) of any entry form money and has been backdated to the start of the contest.  So anyone who entered back in November/December time your charity donations will be 40% not 20.  40% also goes to the prizefund which anyone who gets into the Grand Final will win a share of!

If you havn't entered there are still 8 more rounds to go, so just visit www.petmillions.com.  Entry is from $1.50 about £0.80p
