Gill - That is lovely but as always tears for my boys Beau & Zak. I just want to know that they still love me.

Roz I can't visit Rainbow Bridge - I want to as I want to add a tribute to my boys but I find it too upsetting.
Beau has been gone 4 years January 10th 2008
Zak has been gone 3 years 31st January 2008

and it still upsets me so much.

Where is it?  And is it for the kitties that have all died?  'Cos if it is, I don't wanna go.

I cannot visit the Rainbow Bridge site....that's a fact.   It would be like dipping into a dictionary.  You would spot something and not be able to pass on and that would be it.....sadness for the rest of the day/week....and everyone getting pissed off with me for being too sensitive.  It's so debilitating.  That's why I can't look at photos of kitties that have passed over.  It's the reason I haven't bought a calendar or diary.  I cannot even look at the photos of my own pets who have died.  It is ridiculous but I cannot help it...it's just the way I am......must be why I'm still Pte Queakie and you  Colonel Sneakie. :(

Lets see what peeps want cos many will be very busy, what do you mean by a ceremony exactly?

I think you should get a box of tissues and just pop into our role of honour, you may recognize a few names and give it time for the music to start..............you owe last years babes a visit  ;)

Hi Gill,

I think it would be nice in the General Cat Chat Section because I find the Rainbow Bridge too sad to go to....ridiculous I know, but there you are....I would never get any work done if I popped into that site...it would be too upsetting for me.

But I think if we throw the idea out in the general section to guage people's feelings on the subject, perhaps we could find a time that might be mutually convenient for most of us and we could hold the ceremony then..... that is, if enough people were interested.

We have a Purrs birthday role of honour which is the first year but I think a Christmas candle ceremony would be lovely cos it could include all cats.

Would you like it in the Rainbow Bridge section or in general Cat Chatting?

Let me know and I will open a sticky thread for it tomorrow night  ;D

Ah Gill that is lovely.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could hold a sort of candle ceremony over Christmas on this site for our little ones who have passed over.

We could all light a candle and list their names on a sort of roll of honour...a bit like the Candle Ceremony on the Rainbow Bridge site only smaller and more private...just for our babies...most of whom we are all familiar with...

Would that appeal to anyone do you think?

Lots of love

Roz

THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS - on the Bridge

All the cats are gathering
On the puuuuuuurfect day
Food piled high in boxes
Ready to go under trees
Excited meows and purrs
Can be heard from all around
On the day before Christmas

The walls are lined with drawings
Of slaves they once had
Never to be forgotten
Memories of love and care
Stories are being told
Of adventures and fun
On the day before Christmas

Cats in the kitchen
Making tomorrows feast
Bowls are all sparkling
Ready to drink a toast
To all those who loved them
And feline friends on the Bridge
On the day before Christmas

As the sun goes down
Its a clear sky with only stars and moon
The cats all line the Bridge
And raise their paws together
To celebrate a birth tonight
Of the newest kitten there on earth
On the day before Christmas.
