Purrs In Our Hearts (Purrs)- Was set up by devoted cat lovers to provide a community to fundraise for Cat rescues and help cats in need. That will always be our main goal. We welcome you, with open arms, to join us in helping the needy cats all over the UK. We also have a lot of fun and have lots of great advice and support for all thing Catty.
Purrs forum is privately owned and operated, please treat your membership with respect as you would as a guest/friend in our own homes.
Please note - With medical and behaviour issues, it is always most important that your cat is seen by a vet as your first priority. Any advice given by our members are the views of the author and it is your decision to take that advice or not.

Rules & Forum Etiquette
By registering, you agree, through your use of Purrs In Our Hearts forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or UK law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners and staff of Purrs. Please remember that we cannot actively monitor the posted messages at times and, as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented and any information provided by links to other web sites. The owners also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.
The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of Purrs's staff and owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to directly notify an administrator or moderator immediately.
The staff and the owner of Purrs reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.
As in all forums, it is very easy to take the written word in the wrong context and meaning. The use of smilies do help to show your emotions in your text. We all have our own strong opinions and personalities can clash or it would not be a real world but please be polite and hold controlled discussions.
Please bear in mind that some people may come on the site not knowing much about cats and genuinely seeking advice. Please be fair to any topics you may not agree with. Ie if a new poster comes on posting about de-clawing, etc., please be polite but objective as the poster may be unaware that this is very very cruel and offensive to us. However, if there is a poster deliberately upsetting members, please report this to a Moderator or Admin straight away.
Complaints about posts / Members If you have been upset by any post or member, please send the moderators or Admins your complaint via private message or by using the "report post button" on each thread. Please do not complain in the actual thread, this does nothing other than to fuel arguments. Any post in violation of this rule will be edited or removed without prior notice. The moderators or admin will deal with your complaint with the poster / member. If moderation is needed, if the member is online at the time, will be contacted by pm and asked to self edit/delete. If a member is not online, moderation will take place and a pm sent.
If you find you are clashing with a member, please refrain from posting a private disagreement on the public forum but try to talk it through in private messages. Thanks.
Complaints about Moderating / Moderators /Admin Staff We are all human (cats are so much more intelligent ) so can make errors of judgement at times. All members including Admin and staff are obliged to follow these guidelines on registration. If you have a complaint about any moderation or a member of staff, please send your complaint to Tan via private message or email to Purrs@purrsinourhearts.co.uk.
Staff are not paid for their services and try to make Purrs a pleasant experience for everyone. With that in mind, we ask that you refrain from posting any discussion of any Staff actions, such as thread editing, thread removal and revocation of memberships on the public forum. These decisions are made privately, communicated privately to the members in question, and will not be discussed with other members. Posting about it in the forums and threatening to leave the site will not be allowed as it can have an impact on our fundraising. Any post in violation of this rule will be edited or removed without prior notice.
The right balance for all members re possible upsetting posts So Sadly it's the reason Cat rescues are full to bursting and why Purrs is here to help anyway we can through supporting the wonderful rescues and to help with some cases by spreading the word and possibly do more if we can. It is important to post about the cases, where a member may be able to help or Purrs as a group could possibly help rescues with emergency funding. It would our biggest wish, if the cruelty of our current world could be wiped out. It's something we mustn't hold our head in the sand about. We are all big animal lovers and the posts on cruelty can be very upsetting to read. Because we have had members contact us about upsetting posts , we have put up a guideline, not to stop the posts where we may help ie by signing a petition but to give all our members a choice to view or not. Therefore for consideration of all our members, please read the guide in the help section of the forum.
Please note, Any Pictures or links to horrific abuse sites that purely shock and upset members for entertainment will be deleted without notice. Links to anti-abuse campaigns that include a way to actually help, like by signing a petition or whatever are welcomed.
Threads regarding postings on other websites offering cats for sale, free kittens, free to a good home etc, will be modified taking out any reference to the advertising web site, and links removed. Allowing links to remain inadvertently advertises these sites, and perpetuates this thoughtless practice. Please help animals by not supporting or promoting sites with free classified ads offering animals. If you are seeking a new animal companion, please use rescue!
We do not allow Members to join purely to post and advertise a business or a web site. However, we do like to promote cat related sites and businesses and provide a link section for this. If you would like your cat related site or business on Purrs, please contact Purrs Admin to request and approve your link. Thanks.
We support other Pet rescue forums and do not allow any posts against other forums or sites.
There is a 3 tier system for any member going against our house rules, 1st - Posts may be edited or deleted. All complaints discused privately. 2nd - Post deleted or edited without notice and a Warning of a timed or full ban. 3rd -A timed or complete ban.
Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from Purrs.
If you have any questions, please contact Admin at Purrs@purrsinourhearts.co.uk.
Warm welcome to our site and we look forward to meeting you and your cats.
